When Participants Are Owed a Refund
- Group deleted before the first session → Full refund to all participants.
- Group paused or canceled before any sessions → Full refund to all participants.
- Group ends mid-series → Participants receive a prorated refund for unheld sessions.
- Drop-in/per-session model → Any prepaid canceled sessions must be refunded.
- Group paused but resumes within 30 days → No refund required.
When Refunds Are Not Required
- A participant voluntarily leaves the group.
- A participant misses a session by choice.
- Hosting fees you’ve paid to MentalHappy.
How to Refund Participants
- Go to Group Settings → Status.
- Click Pause Group or Delete Group.
- If participants have paid for upcoming sessions, a refund screen will appear.
- This screen shows number of participants affected, refund per participant, and total refund amount.
- Click Issue Refunds & Proceed to complete the refunds.
- After refunds, your group will be paused or deleted.
What Happens After a Refund
- Participants receive a notification with refund details (amount, method, processing time).
- You receive a confirmation notice that refunds were issued.
- Refunds are automatically sent to participants’ original payment method.
Disputes and Support
If a participant believes their refund is incorrect, they can contact MentalHappy Support directly via their refund notification. Support steps in only when issues cannot be resolved between leaders and participants.
⚠️ Reminder: Hosting fees you pay to run your group are never refunded, even if you pause or delete your group.
