💬 Contacting Your Group Leader

How to reach your Group Leader safely and effectively on MentalHappy.

Can I Send a Direct Message?

On MentalHappy, members don’t message Group Leaders privately. All communication happens in the group chat to ensure:

  • Safety & Protection: Reduces misunderstandings and protects everyone.
  • Group Support First: Everyone benefits from the same guidance.
  • Transparency: Conversations are visible to moderators and members.
  • HIPAA Compliance: Health information stays secure in monitored group chat.

How to Reach Your Group Leader

  1. Open the Group Chat in the MentalHappy app (mobile or web).
  2. Tag your Leader: Type @ + their username (example: @JaneDoe).
  3. Write your message.
Example: @JaneDoe Could you share grounding tips for anxiety this week?
  4. Send it in the group — your leader will get a notification and reply in the same thread.

Benefits of Group-Only Messaging

  • Shared Learning: Everyone sees the answer.
  • Stronger Community: Encourages openness and trust.
  • Clear Record: Guidance stays saved in chat for easy reference.

If You Need Extra Help

If your leader hasn’t responded after a reasonable time, reach out to MentalHappy Support:

  • In-app: Settings → Support Chat
  • Email: support@mentalhappy.com (include your account email, group name, and question)

Support can ensure your concern is addressed or guide you on next steps.

Good Practices When Tagging Leaders

  • Be Clear: Ask one question at a time.
  • Be Respectful: Leaders may need time to reply.
  • Be Patient: Allow 24–48 hours for responses when possible.
  • Be Supportive: Encourage others’ questions too — it builds stronger groups.
