When you join a MentalHappy support group, you enter a safe, private space focused on your well-being. Here’s what you’ll find:
- Group Chat: A private 24/7 chat (mobile app only) where members encourage each other. You can share updates, reflections, or just cheer others on. Screenshots are blocked for privacy.
- Upcoming Sessions: See your group’s meeting schedule in your time zone and RSVP easily.
- Pinned Resources: Access helpful tools like worksheets, coping tips, or articles shared by your Group Leader.
- Anonymous Q&A: Ask questions privately; only your Group Leader sees your name. Approved questions appear in chat labeled “Anonymous.”
- Virtual Group Sessions: Up to 60-minute video meetings led by your Group Leader. You can share, listen, or simply observe until you’re ready. All members agree to confidentiality.
- Between Sessions: Use the chat for check-ins, weekly prompts, or challenges. Everything is HIPAA-compliant and secure.
🔑 Getting Started (Login & Access)
- Download the App (iOS or Android) or go to mentalhappy.com.
- Log in with your email and password.
- Tap/Click My Groups → Select your group.
- You’ll see your group’s chat, sessions, and resources all in one place.
🔍 Finding & Joining Support Groups
- Use the Search bar (web or mobile app) to explore groups.
- Try keywords like “anxiety,” “parenting,” “grief,” or “chronic pain.”
- Filter by category or tags to narrow results.
- Open a group to view details, guidelines, and pricing (if any), then tap Join Group.
- If a group is marked Starting Soon, you can click “I’m Interested” to be notified when it launches.
📌 “Starting Soon” Groups
Some groups you join may be in Starting Soon status. Here’s what that means:
- The Group Leader is still setting things up.
- You cannot post in chat yet, but you can click “I’m Interested” to let the leader know you want updates.
- Once the group launches, you’ll get notified and have full access.
👋 Introducing Yourself
You choose when and how much to share – no pressure.
Examples:
- Short: “Excited to be here and learn from others going through similar things.”
- Longer: “I’ve been looking for ways to manage stress better and connect with others. Glad to have found this group.”
- Or simply: “I’m here to listen and learn.”
You can introduce yourself in chat or during a live session—whatever feels comfortable.
🎥 Inside a Live Session
Here’s what to expect when you click Join:
- Sessions last up to 60 minutes.
- Your camera and microphone are off by default. Turn them on if/when you feel ready.
- You can participate by speaking, using the chat, or just listening quietly.
- You can leave the session at any time.
- Even if you didn’t RSVP, you can still attend as long as you’re a member of the group.
🗓️ How to Register for Sessions
On Desktop
- Log in → Go to your group’s page.
- Find Upcoming Sessions or Calendar.
- Click a session to view details.
- Click RSVP/Register (optional).
- Add to your calendar (recommended).
- At start time, click Join to enter.
On Mobile App
- Log in → Tap your group.
- Open the Sessions tab.
- Tap a session for details.
- Tap RSVP/Attend/Register.
- You’ll get push notifications when it’s time to join.
💡 RSVP just lets the Group Leader know who’s planning to attend—it’s not required.
🔔 Notifications & Reminders
- RSVP to get reminders via email or push notification.
- At session start, you’ll receive a notification with a Join link.
- You can adjust your notification settings inside the app.
🤝 How to Stay Engaged
- Reply to weekly prompts or questions posted by your Group Leader.
- Share wins, challenges, or reflections in the chat.
- React to posts (👍 ❤️) to encourage others.
- Join sessions regularly—consistency helps you get the most from the group.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Basics
- Can’t see your group? Pull down to refresh (mobile) or reload the page (desktop).
- Link not working? Try joining from another browser or device.
- Missed a notification? Open the app and go directly to your group’s Sessions tab.
- Still stuck? Use the Help option in your dashboard for support.
